Ann Jane (Ferguson) Grant, 89, beloved wife of the Late Frederick W. Grant, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 22, 2024 after a long illness. A long time resident of Merrimac and later Groveland, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Irene (Hickey) Ferguson.
Ann worked for many years at Western Electric, remaining through their many changes and eventually retiring from Lucent Technologies in 1997. As mother of six children, she spent many years supporting their various activities in the Pentucket sports and arts programs. In later years, she learned to ski and enjoyed traveling to various resorts around the country with her beloved husband, Fred.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ann was predeceased by her brother, Eugene Ferguson, sister, Joan Johnson and Joan’s husband Alan Johnson. She leaves behind brothers William and Barbara Ferguson and Robert and Jeannie Ferguson; sister-in-law Polly Ferguson; six children, Stephen Grant and Kenneth Robinson, Gayle and Lawrence MacElhiney, Thomas and Danielle Grant, Bonnie Grant, Nancy Bridges, and James and Alana Grant; 13 grandchildren: Grant, Katherine, Corey, Zachary, Tucker, Austin, Jocelyn, Jon, Bradley, Michelle, Kerry, Haley, and Kevin; 6 great-grandchildren: Kyli, Taya, Mason, Mia, Lorna, Leana; best dog, Cathy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She will continue to hold a very special place in the hearts of those she loved.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 12-2 P.M. at the Monument Square Chapel of the Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill. Private interment will take place in the spring at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Merrimac, Massachusetts.
