Newburyport - Arthur Joseph Cote, 94, of Newburyport MA, passed away on December 6, 2024. He was born on June 22, 1930, to Joseph and Cora (Laliberte) Cote. He grew up in the south end along with his twin brother George and sisters Lorraine, Loretta and Diana.

Arthur was proud to serve his country in the US Army and Air Force during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Rosemarie (Rosie) Stanwood. They wed at the French Church in 1956, making their home on Hancock Street where they resided for 65 years. Arthur and Rosie had no children of their own, but had many nieces and nephews of whom they were very close with.

Arthur was employed at United Shoe, Raytheon, and General Electric as a product designer. Once retired, Arthur and Rosie loved to travel and experience different parts of the country, Las Vegas and New Orleans being their favorites. Arthur was a man of many interests and talents. He was known for his storytelling, and his knowledge of local and military history. He was an outdoorsman, artist, tennis player, he loved to dance, and he played a mean harmonica. Uncle Arthur was the life of the party and always up for an adventure. His warm heart and generous spirit touched the lives of so many people throughout his life and he will be dearly missed.

As per Arthur's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
