Beverly J. (Willette) Smith, 82, of Merrimac, MA, passed peacefully on November 7, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.

She was the wife of the late James A. Smith and mother of the late Diane M. Smith.

She was born in Haverhill, MA, in 1941 to the late Arthur J. and Eva B. Willette. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Arthur F., Arnold, Henry “Donald” and Robert P. Willette, and her sisters, Lorraine E. Thibodeau and Connie Boisvert.

She was educated in Haverhill and was a graduate of the Whittier Tech’s LPN Program in 1976. She was employed at the Hale Hospital for many years.

Beverly is survived by her children, Natasha Corliss of Newton, NH, Cynthia Foote and her husband Ed of West Newbury, MA, Sherry Smith of Bradford, MA and James Smith of Merrimac, MA., her grandchildren, Rachael Pelletier, Benjamin Sullivan, Jennifer (Sullivan) Pacheco, Daniel and Stacie Smith, her great-grandchildren, Jacob Gentile, Chad and Tristen Pelletier, and Benjamin Cooper, her son-in-law, Peter Sullivan, many nieces and nephews, her best friend, Joyce Donovan and her favorite niece, Carol DiPietro.

She had an extraordinary love for nature and all animals, especially her poodles, Elizabeth, Rose, Lily and Pepper. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading, word and jigsaw puzzles and shopping for a bargain at thrift stores.

A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 1 P.M. at Locust Grove Cemetery, where she will be laid to eternal rest between her beloved daughter, Diane, and her beloved husband, James. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Beverly J. Smith to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main Street, Merrimac.
