Carroll Pike (Teddy) Bartlett

d. June 13, 2024

Carroll Pike Bartlett (Teddy), age 98, a former longtime resident of Salisbury, MA until retiring in Amesbury passed peacefully in the quiet surroundings of the Rockingham County Nursing Home. He was the devoted husband of the late Luella Gale (Worthen) Bartlett, who passed on February 10, 2015.

Carroll was born in Newburyport on February 14, 1926. He was the son of the late Theodore and Abbie (Hunt) Bartlett and attended Amesbury High School. He was a proud veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Navy. Carroll was a lifelong truck driver, having worked with the R. G. Watkins Company and Sprague Oil for countless years. Teddy loved his trucks!

Carroll, affectionately known as Teddy and Pa, was a man whose presence was marked by warmth, kindness, and an ever-present smile. If you knew Teddy, you undoubtedly knew his beloved wife Lu, the love of his life. Teddy and Lu’s joy and generosity were as abundant as the sweets they loved to share. Teddy was a unique soul, instantly recognizable by his trademark trucker hat, his welcoming smile, and a pocket always stocked with peppermint patties. The legacy of Teddy’s kind spirit and loving nature will live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to know him. He will be profoundly missed by all whose lives he touched.

The memories he created throughout his lifetime will forever be cherished by his daughter, Carol Lu McGrath and his son, James Worthen Bartlett, both of NH; his grandchildren, Lauren McGrath and husband Jason Frotton, Katharine McGrath and fiance Andrew Welsh, and James Carroll “JC” Bartlett; his great-grandchildren, Piper Frotton, Parker Welsh, Trevor Bardeen, and Reid Bartlett, along with several generations of nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his brother, Theodore Bartlett and two sisters, Lorraine Davis and Frances Bailey.

By request of the family, there will be no services. Arrangements were by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913.
