May 27, 1965 - May 26, 2024
Daniel Howard Follansbee of West Newbury passed away at the age of 58 on Sunday, May 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Daniel was born on May 27, 1965 in Newburyport, MA to Gordon and Susan (Poore) Follansbee of West Newbury. He had fond memories growing up in a small town and in a warm church community. Daniel and his older siblings, Russell and Linda, enjoyed an idyllic childhood, living just down the street from their loving maternal grandparents, Howard and Mary (Anderson) Poore, and their small farm with cows, horses, and a garden. Together, they took many camping and hiking trips in the New Hampshire mountains. They also fondly remember their grandfather, David Follansbee, who visited often and lived with the family for a time.
Daniel found his greatest joy in life in his family. Loyal and steadfast, he was known and loved for his drive for excellence, intelligence, wit and humor. He faced his long cancer battle with courage and determination. He graduated in three years from Pentucket Regional High School in 1982 then attended Bentley College, graduating in 1986 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. In 1993 he began studies at Boston College Law School, earning a joint JD/MBA in 1996. He began practicing law in Boston at Palmer & Dodge before joining Mintz Levin in 2001. He became a member in 2006 and practiced in the corporate law section until shortly before his death. He enjoyed the intellectual challenge of his work as well as his relationships with colleagues and clients.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Lynne, of 33 years, and their children, Faith and Joshua. He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Susan Follansbee of West Newbury, grandparents Howard and Mary Poore of West Newbury, and David and Mildred Follansbee, of Amesbury. Daniel is also survived by his brother Russell and his wife Denise, sister Linda and her partner Ruane Crummett, Uncle George Poore of CA and many relatives in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the West Newbury Congregational Church, 308 Main Street, West Newbury, MA followed by a reception in the church hall. Arrangements by Paul C. Rogers Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA.
