Edwin T Noyes

Edwin Tenney Noyes better known as Tenney or Ed, passed away on Wednesday January 15, 2025 with late stage lung cancer at the Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport. 

He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on March 28, 1952, a son of Edwin and Mary (Vye) Noyes from Newbury. Tenney grew up at the home of his grandparents, a home that had been in the Noyes Family since the early 1800’s, where his grandmother ran Noyes’s Ice Cream for many years.

The Noyes Family worked for the Postal Service as Star Route Mail Carriers since the early 1940’s. Tenney went to work with his dad transporting mail as soon as he was able to drive a truck. After Tenney graduated from High School he moved to Crested Butte, CO where he worked as a carpenter building houses. He then moved back to Massachusetts and operated his own contract for the Postal Service for 30 years until retiring. After he retired he started driving a school bus for Whittier which he enjoyed tremendously.

Tenney had many interests including Nascar, Football, Baseball and his most favorite was to go out west and go fishing with his friend Louie. He loved listening to music and to hang out with his friends. 

Tenney is survived by his two sisters and brother in-laws, two nephews, and many cousins in Canada and in the Worcester area. Tenney also leaves behind many friends, some of which he has had since grammar school. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Tom. 

Tenney was loved by many, he will be greatly missed.
