Franics E. Krauss

Francis E. Krauss, age 85, of Salem, NH, passed peacefully at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, on August 15, 2024, after a period of declining health, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette “Jean” (Calderwood) Krauss.

Born in Methuen, November 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Francis and Ivy (Griffin) Krauss.

For many years Frank had worked at the Chrysler Dealership in Peabody as an exceptional auto mechanic, and with his skills he was always ready to work on his own cars and helped out with his friends cars as well. He loved bowling, watching late night wrestling on T.V. with his grandchildren, loved fishing and hunting, and taking care of his gun collection. Frank was an animal lover, especially his dog, Charlie.

He leaves behind fond memories that will be forever treasured by his family: wife, Jean; his sons, Timothy Krauss of Manchester, NH and Francis Krauss, Jr. and his significant other, Denise, of Haverhill; step-children, William Rudd of Derry, NH, Pamela Garrity of Exeter, NH and Linda Allegresso of Dracut; brothers, Paul Krauss and wife Donna of Kingston, NH, Dave Krauss of Ossipee NH and Alan Krauss of FL, along with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed by them all.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 11 A.M. at Mount Prospect Cemetery, 202 Elm Street, Amesbury, MA, where he will be laid to eternal rest. Arrangements were by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913.
