Gary N. Lattime, age 82, longtime resident of Salisbury, passed on January 14, 2025, at Anna Jaques Hospital after a period of declining health. He was the devoted husband of Claire J. (Langevin) Lattime.

Born in Orange, MA on January 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Furmer and Leda (Malshuk) Lattime and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. As a youngster, he always looked forward to spending his summers at his grandmother’s home in Vermont, enjoying all the activities throughout the season, and being with all his siblings and cousins. 

After graduating from Newburyport High School in 1960, Gary enlisted in the United States Army. 

After his military service, Gary served 34 years with the Salisbury Police Department and received a service award from the Canadian Royal Mounted Police. In 2007 he retired from the Salisbury Police Department, working as a private investigator for seven years. 

Gary was a member of the Odd Fellows and was also a 32nd Degree member of the Masons. As a very devout Christian, he had been a member of the Old South Presbyterian Church of Newburyport for 59 years and was an elected and ordained Elder of the Church. 

He leaves behind his dearest wife, Claire; daughter, Galen N. Lattime; his brother, Furmer Lattime and wife Mary; his sister, Emma Simmons and husband Richard; his nephew and dear friend, Gardner N. Lattime, along with extended family and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Natalie Lattime and his brother, Gardner Lattime who passed in 2022. 

A Graveside Service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11 A.M. at Long Hill Cemetery, Beach Road, Salisbury, MA, where Gary will be laid to everlasting rest, and will receive Military Honors for his years of Service. Arrangements were made by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA.
