Give Paul Debarsy De

Paul de Barsy de Give, Jr., age 76, died at his home in Newburyport, MA on April 4th, 2024. Born and raised in New York City, Paul settled in Boston after college, moving to Newburyport in 1985.

In 1972 he married Margaret (Meg) Mary Acheson Donato, who brought her daughter Ariane into his life. Although the marriage ended in divorce, Paul continued a close relationship with Ariane and her two daughters, to whom he was a caring grandfather.

Paul began his career in journalism. He covered New York City for the Associated Press, did extensive reporting on the newly formed UAE for the Christian Science Monitor and then appeared on air for The Evening Compass, a news show on WGBH-TV in Boston. Later, he worked for Arthur D. Little, Inc. as a strategy consultant and as a Principal at Gustin Partners, executive recruiters. In 2000, Paul founded The deBarsy Group to help early stage IT and clean technology companies to reach commercialization and financing. Paul worked with American startups and also joined forces with The Clean Tech Open and United Nations Development Organization to develop entrepreneurs across Europe.

Paul attended St David’s School in New York City, was a graduate of Portsmouth Abbey, 1964, Harvard University, 1969 and MIT Sloan Business School, 1977.

Paul is survived by his siblings Ghislaine, Philip, and Dominique de Give; sister-in-law Josephine in Virginia, widow of his brother David; daughter Ariane Donato Radulski and granddaughters Sasha Radulski Kannan and Sofia Radulski O’Connor.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family  Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations in memory of Paul may be made to World Central Kitchens wcg.org., an organization he greatly admired.
