Jacqueline C. Hoyle Storti

January 21, 1933 — February 28, 2025

Amesbury, MA

Jacqueline C. Hoyle Storti died peacefully on February 28, 2025. She was born January 21, 1933 and spent her childhood in Chelmsford MA. She married Richard Hoyle, her high school sweetheart in 1954. They raised their six children in Reading MA and after their divorce they remained the best of friends. She later married John Storti and they spent many happy years together living on Haverhill Street in Reading. After his passing she moved to Amesbury to be closer to her children where she met her special friend John Jennell. She and John could often be seen walking hand and hand through downtown Amesbury. While she had a career as an office administrator her greatest pleasure came from being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Despite her difficult childhood she was the quintessential nurturing mother. She loved nothing better than cheering on the grandkids at their sporting events, taking them on day trips, and baking chocolate chip cookies.

She is survived by her children Cathy Toomey and partner Paul Gagliardi, Sue Deorocki and husband Ron, Terri Doerfler and husband Mike, Linda Golden and husband Peter, Jim Hoyle, and Cindy Hoyle and her husband Bert Cushman. Her grandchildren Sean (Samantha) and Colleen (Jonny) Toomey, Jackie, Cecilly (Scott), and Allyssa (Pete) Deorocki, Liz (Luke) and Daniel (Danielle) Kidder, Michael (Jill) and David Golden, Camille, Sumner and Claire Cushman and the nine great grandkids, Hannah, Colin, Hunter, Leon, Ellie, Chloe, Jason, Linnea, and Eamon and another one on the way.

Some of her greatest joy came from her lifelong friendship with the Cook family and summers spent on Wilson Lake in Acton Maine. Jackie was a reader, water skier, bridge player, square dancer and ardent scrapbooker and keeper of the family memories. While in her eighties she got her first tattoo and went sky diving.

Family and friends are invited to stop by Crave, 10 Water Street Amesbury on Monday March 10th between 3 and 6 to laugh and share some memories. In lieu of flowers donations are welcome to the Sargeant Jordan M. Shay Memorial Foundation, PO Box 414, Newburyport, MA 01950. Arrangements were by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913.
