Joanne (Murphy) Ault

Joanne (Murphy) Ault, 75, of Salisbury, and most recently of Haverhill, MA, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus at her sister’s home in Salisbury on April 25th, 2024.

She was born on March 20, 1949, one of 8 children, the daughter of the late Daniel F. and Mary T. Murphy; of Boston MA. She was raised there and migrated up to the Newburyport area in the early 80’s.

She had a creative gift and had a passion for interior design as well as needlepoint. Her occupation revolved around medical billing and phlebotomy and in later years , she specialized in caretaking of the elderly.

She will be remembered for her contagious laughter, empathetic heart, listening ear, and her generous spirit as well as her faith in Jesus.

She was predeceased by her sister Pat Foley of Jamaica Plain, MA, and her brother Daniel F. Murphy, Jr. of Everett; her nephews, Bobby Hawkins of Boston, MA and William Hawkins of Newburyport, MA, as well as David and William Murphy of Dedham MA. She was the widow of the late Roger A. Ault, the love of her life, who passed in 1997.

She leaves behind her brother, Johnny Murphy and partner Diane Dudley of Salisbury, MA, her brother David and wife Marianne Murphy of N. Andover MA, her brother Donald Murphy of Dedham MA, her brother Jerry and wife Jeanie Murphy of Melbourne FL, and her sister Jeanne Linscott-Murphy and Dan Gallant of Salisbury, MA, as well as a symphony of nieces, nephews, greats, and great great nieces and nephews whom she loved and spoiled. She will be deeply missed.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tufts Hospice or a charity of your choice in her remembrance.

A Memorial service and celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
