John Patrick “Jack Mac†McDonald, died on November 17, 2023, at the Steward Holy Family Hospital in Methuen after a valiant struggle with lung cancer.
Jack was born in Somerville, MA on March 17, 1948, son of the late Alexander X. and Alice G. (Kane) McDonald.
Jack spent his career working at Boston’s premier theater and sports venues. He served as box office manager at the Wang Center for Performing Arts (currently the Boch Center) and worked at both the original and new Boston Garden, retiring from Boston Celtics box office ticket sales. He was an officer and loyal member of Treasurers and Ticketsellers Union, Local 753.
In retirement, he greatly enjoyed playing a few rounds, socializing with his golf buddies at Ould Newbury and visiting his vacation home on Sanibel Island, FL.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Wilma E. (Mahoney) McDonald; sisters-in-law, Ellen Keiley and husband Vincent; Teresa Mahoney and partner Andy DiMarca; niece Allison J. Keiley, Ipswich; nephew Christopher Keiley, Brooklyn, NY. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Ruth.
