Joyce A. (Cuddy) Lyon

Merrimac - Joyce Ann (Cuddy) Lyon, 87, of Merrimac, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

Born in Lawrence, Joyce was the proud daughter of the late George Francis Cuddy and Helen Theresa Riley. She was raised in North Andover where she graduated from Johnson High School in 1954 and Merrimack College in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science. In her youth, Joyce loved dancing with her girlfriends at the Central Catholic school dances on Friday nights.
Joyce was employed at Thorpe Elementary School as a teaching aide when her children were in school. She then switched careers to work for North Shore Community College as an administrative assistant and in student activities until her retirement in 2002.

Joyce loved spending time with her family, eating out at her favorite restaurants with “the girls” from elementary school, high school, college, NSCC and Danvers (especially at China Blossom in North Andover) and watching reruns of Gunsmoke on TV Land. She will be deeply missed by those who she loved.

Surviving Joyce is her son, Scott Lyon and his wife Anne of Danvers; her daughter, Cori Snow and her husband Andrew of Merrimac; and her grandchildren, Brendan Lyon and his wife Belen of Beverly, Alex Lyon and his fiancée Lindsay Moriarty of Salem, Brooke Snow and her husband Zachary James of Haverhill, and Bradley Snow of Merrimac. She is also survived by countless friends.
