Juliette M. (Gravel) Woodsum

d. January 31, 2024

Juliette M. (Gravel) Woodsum, age 83, of Bolton, MA, formerly of West Newbury, passed peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, January 31, 2024, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth E. Woodsum, who passed on March 22, 1974.

Born in Clinton, MA, April 8, 1940, she was one of five daughters of the late Antonio and Beatrice A. (Floyd) Gravel, and had attended Lancaster High School.

The proud mother of a daughter and two sons, were stricken by the death of Kenneth, who fought a valiant battle with cancer for almost one year, leaving Juliette without her husband, and her three children without their father. Juliette, at the young age of 34, was devastated, as were her children, however, somehow she gathered the strength to forge forward as the head of the household. She decided to become a dental assistant and at the age of 40, received her dental certificate, and worked for a local dentist’s office for quite some years.

She leaves behind her daughter, Gloria A. Clouthier and husband Raymond J. Jr.; grandson, Raymond J. Clouthier III and his wife Dawn Newton Clouthier; two great-grandsons, Raymond Joseph “RJ” Clouthier, IV and Joseph Newton Clouthier; two sisters, Diana Rudis and Barbara Katz, along with several generations of nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Kenneth, she was also predeceased by her two sons, Richard E. Woodsum, and Mark G. Woodsum.

A graveside service will be held sometime in Spring of 2024, at Bridge Street Cemetery, West Newbury, where Juliette will be laid to eternal rest beside her dearest husband Kenneth. Arrangements were by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesubry, MA 01913.
