Kelley Jean Baker, 57 of Newburyport, Ma., passed away on Thursday, October 17th in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones.
Kelley was born in Melrose, Ma., and graduated from Saugus High School’s Extension Program. In her younger days, she enjoyed fishing down Plum Island with her father and siblings, horseback riding, and spending time at the beach. She always brought home cats and would put them on her fathers lap so he would fall in love and she could keep them. She loved her basenji Caesar, who was very protective of her. In 1994, Kelley met the love of her life, Larry, and in 1997, gave birth to their daughter, Jessica. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and would do anything for those she loved. Kelley was strong willed, brave, and always with a smile on her face. When asked how she was doing, she would respond with “good” or “not bad for a quad”. Kelley never complained, even with all that she was dealt (Breast Cancer, and Multiple Sclerosis). She loved spending time with family, watching her game shows, social media, her collection of Barbie dolls, Ty babies and Patriots memorabilia.
Kelley is survived by her spouse Larry Doak of Newburyport, MA, her daughter Jessica Doak of Newburyport, MA, stepdaughters Kristina Doak of Salisbury, MA., and Kelly Nyberg of Rochester, NH, grandchildren Colton Fox, Cooper Nyberg, and Noah & Miley O’Brien, siblings Richard Baker of Newburyport, MA, Kimberly & Tom Kane of Tewksbury MA, Douglas & Jennifer Baker of Amesbury, MA, nieces and nephews Melynee & Britanie McCarthy, Tj & Kayla Kane, Andrew & Ryan Baker. She was predeceased by her father and mother Elwin & Sylvia Baker of Saugus, MA., and stepson Jacob Nyberg of Rochester, NH.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 3, from 12-3 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913.
