KENNETH DAVID BOSSE, 1947-2024
Kenneth D. Bosse, 76, of North Andover, formerly of Amesbury and Falmouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at Lawrence General Hospital on June 2, 2024.
Ken was born on December 3, 1947, in Gary, Indiana, the first child of Arthur and Welda Bosse. He graduated from Edison High School and then relocated to Lawrence, MA where he attended and graduated from the Culinary Arts Department at the Greater Lawrence Vocational School.
In 1973, Ken married Marianne Winn and they moved to Cape Cod. In 1985 Ken and Marianne were blessed with a son, Kenneth Patrick. Patrick was the answer to their dreams of becoming parents.
Ken was the food service director at several nursing homes and worked as a cook and a chef at several restaurants on the Cape. He achieved his life-long dream of co-owning and managing a restaurant when he opened The Nobska House in Falmouth, which was a very successful and popular establishment, and where he remained until he retired and relocated back to the Merrimack Valley in 2011.
Ken was generous and kind to all he met. He loved sharing his recipes and culinary knowledge with others; he enjoyed a good game of 45’s and made friends wherever he went. Family was so very important to Kenny; he loved and always looked so forward to the family gatherings at his sister Cheri’s home, where his laughter would fill the room.
Ken was predeceased by his wife, his father and mother, all of his aunts and uncles and by his cousins, Gino Capellari of Indiana and Patricia Keith of Kentucky. He is survived by his son, Petty Officer 3rd Class Kenneth Patrick Bosse, US Navy, stationed in Yokosuka, Japan; his two brothers, Michael (Pam) Bosse, of Lawrence MA and Daniel (Kathryn) Bosse, of Sandown, NH and his two sisters Cheri (John) Watson of Seabrook, NH and Cecile (John) Spofford of Derry, NH. In addition, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Pamela (Ed) Saab of Windham, NH and his nieces and nephews, Christopher (Misty) Saldi; Gina Saldi; Mitchell (Christine) Bosse; Jessica Bosse; Jacob (Holly) Bosse; Alison Bosse; Courtney (Vincent) Troisi; Jaslyn Saab; Amanda (Gregory) Day; Amanda Saab; and Brittany (Alex) Colon and 13 great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his cousins in Massachusetts, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky, all of whom he loved and cherished.
Ken’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Prescott House Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided during his time there. A remarkable staff on all levels, who will always be remembered for their kindnesses and attention to Kenny’s needs.
Services will be held at the Paul C. Rogers Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury, MA on Sunday, June 9. Calling hours will be 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm, with a memorial service at the funeral home following visitation hours. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made to Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation; the Mary Jo Brown Foundation; St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital; or the charity of one’s choice.
