Linda von Eggers Tremblay, age 71, passed away on March 8th at Mass General Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

Born December 15th, 1952, in Boston to parents Barabara and Preben Eggers of Newton and her family moved to Andover where she graduated from Andover High in 1970. A dear memory of Linda’s was traveling in Europe with her father. The trip was the first of many as it sparked her lifelong love of travel.

Linda met the love of her life, David Tremblay, at UMass Amherst and went on to graduate with a degree in Food Science. Her career included work as a Chemist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and later as an Industrial Hygienist for Wang Laboratories.

Linda and David married on September 18th, 1976, and raised three beautiful daughters in North Andover. She cared deeply for her family, ran the home, and still found time to garden and serve as an avid volunteer. In 2011, the couple moved to Ring’s Island in Salisbury and enjoyed the next chapter of their lives. They traveled internationally, motorcycled all over the United States, and regularly traveled to visit their children and grandchildren. In her later years, Linda enjoyed quilting, boating, playing poker, gardening, geo-caching, volunteering, and mostly spending precious time with family and friends.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, David Tremblay; daughters Suzanne Tremblay, Lindsay Tremblay (Tyler Beeney), Sandra Tremblay Miller (Tom Miller); grandchildren Teddy and Ruby Miller; and her sister Carol (Richard Goldberg). Linda leaves a legacy of humor, love, and gentle kindness to all she touched in life.

Calling hours will be held Thursday evening, March 14th, from 5 to 8 at the Elliot Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, MA. A celebration of life will be held at a later date by the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Linda’s name to Mass Audubon or the Trustees of Reservation.
