We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Malcolm Henry Joseph Burns, IV, a beloved son, father, sibling, and friend to many. Malcolm, age 34, of Northwood, NH, departed this world on October 1, 2024, at 534 First New Hampshire Turnpike. Born on February 17, 1990, in Newburyport, MA, he was the cherished son of Malcom Henry Burns, III and Kimberly (Vinton) Burns. Malcolm was a dedicated worker at Local 51 in Cambridge and excelled as a Weightlifter and Semi-Pro Football player, known by his number 77 for the Granite State Destroyer team.

Malcolm’s passion for football extended beyond playing as he generously volunteered as a football coach in Mattapan, MA, where he led the team to their first championship. Additionally, his selflessness and bravery were evident through his volunteer work with the Fire Rescue in Whitefield, NH. Malcolm leaves behind a legacy of sportsmanship, determination, and service to his community.

He is survived by his parents, Malcolm and Kimberly Burns of Northwood, NH; his loving children, Malcolm Hunter Burns and Ariella Burns of Northwood, NH, who were his pride and joy, and Malcolm’s fiancee, Ashley Whyte. Malcolm will be dearly missed by his four brothers: Nicholas Ryan Burns and wife Chelsey of Haverhill, MA, Jake Ineson and wife Kimmy of Whitefield, NH, Corey Parker and wife Sarah of Merrimac, MA, Jack Fearon and wife Samantha of Chester, NH; his caring sister, Rebecca Burns and fiancé Kaniel Utkin of Newburyport, MA; his adored nephew, Vincent Burns of Haverhill, MA, along with extended family and countless friends.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects during the calling hours scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM, at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, MA 01913, immediately followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Amesbury, where he will be laid to eternal rest. In lieu of flowers, donations in Malcolm’s memory can be made to TBI Research to honor his commitment to improving lives.
