Margaret A. Gynan

Margaret A. Gynan, age 66, of Brentwood, NH, passed peacefully at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. 

Born in Newburyport, July 16, 1958, “Peggy” as she was known by many, was one of two daughters of the late Nicholas and Doris N. (LaPierre) Gynan, and was a graduate of Winnacunnet High School, Class of 1976, then went on to receive her Associate Degree from Northern Essex Community College. 

Peggy was the Office Manager at Market Basket, and had to leave due to disability in 1981. 

She leaves behind a niece, Lori Comeau and her husband Craig of Kingston, NH; two grandnieces, Courtney Daigle and her husband Tyler, and Brianna Hollenbeck and her husband Drew; three great-grandnieces, Avianna, Isabella and Aivah , and one great-grandnephew, Mason; along with several cousins, Frances Conley, Linda Lewis, Kathy and James Clarke, along with extended family. In addition to her parents, Peggy was also predeceased by her sister, Joann F. Souther, brother-in-law, John Souther, and her nephew, Darrin Souther. 

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 1 to 3 P.M. at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. In Spring of 2025, Peggy will be laid to eternal rest at Oak Hill Cemetery, where she will be next to her beloved parents, Nick and Doris.
