Margaret M. (Heywood) Pilon

Margaret M. (Heywood) Pilon, 83, resident of Amesbury, MA, died peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family having lived life as she wanted and leaving her mark on all those who loved her.  She was the beloved wife of 66 years to Robert W. Pilon, Sr.

Born in Newburyport on September 26, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ruth (Packer) Heywood and attended Newburyport schools. She married Bob and began their beautiful life together in Amesbury, building their home and the family business “Bob’s Auto Repair LLC.”

Margaret was the consummate “mom” -- she always enjoyed time with her family whether it was cooking or cleaning or helping them with their own homes. She loved vacationing to Walt Disney World and traveled worldwide with her husband visiting all 50 US states; she especially enjoyed the Canadian Rockies and Hawaii. Following retirement from Verizon, Margaret looked forward to monthly lunches with her retiree friends.

Her family and her grandchildren, in particular, were her universe in her later years as she was the first one to celebrate with each of them at all their life events.

In addition to her husband, she is survived and will be deeply missed by her three children, Doris A. Paquin and her husband David of Exeter, Robert W. Pilon, Jr. of Haverhill and his significant other Corinne Dunn of Amesbury, Annette L. Dion and her husband Rene of Dracut, MA; loving grandmother to four grandchildren, Jennifer Ingraham of Portsmouth, NH, Joseph R. Dion of Lowell, MA, William R. Dion and Michelle L. Dion of Dracut, MA, one great-grandson Tristan Ingraham of Exeter, NH, four sisters, Gloria Warcewicz, Joanne Yoho, Nancy Heywood, and Robin Kane, two brothers Paul Heywood and Herbert Heywood, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her seven sisters, Charlotte Eaton, Ruth Flanagan, June Bragdon, Marianne Egnew, Sally Patrick, Cindy Earl, Diane Heywood, and her brother, Harold Heywood, Jr.
