MATTHEW JOHN SPECHT
December 29, 1972 - November 18, 2024

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Matthew John Specht on November 18, 2024, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on December 29, 1972 in Lynn, Massachusetts to Paul and Kathleen Specht. He grew up in North Reading and graduated from Northeast Metro Tech (The Voke) in Wakefield, MA. Matt dedicated 28 years of his career to UPS, where he was a hard working employee.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Catherine Burns and his paternal grandparents William and Olive Specht. He leaves behind his two beloved children, Skyler and Christian, of Derry, NH; his parents Paul and Kathleen of Hampton, NH; his siblings: Nancy Moncada (Deborah Hanson) of Newbury, MA; Paul Specht (Eric Wirth) of Easthampton, MA; Diane Grove (Matthew Grove) of Tewksbury. Matt is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many caring and supportive friends who held him close to their hearts.

Matt could often be found playing his guitar, sharing his creativity and talent with friends and family. He was also a devoted fan of Batman, curating an impressive collection of memorabilia. Beyond music and collectibles, Matt had a unique passion for sneakers, which he wore with pride as an expression of his individuality.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 24 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Paul C. Roger’s and Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury MA. A prayer service will take place on Monday, November 25 at 11:00am at the same location.
