Patricia Lee (Creasey) Simmons

d. January 16, 2024

Patricia Lee (Creasey) Simmons, age 73, lifelong Amesbury resident, passed suddenly at Lahey Clinic, Burlington, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She was the devoted wife of James E. Simmons, Jr., having been married and shared a lifelong love of 44 years.

Born in Amesbury, July 24, 1950, she was one of five children of the late Edwin R. and Grace “Polly” (Little) Creasey, and was a graduate of Amesbury High School.

Lee, as she was known by family and friends, was retired from the Amesbury School System, having been a secretary at the Cashman School. She was also a devout parishioner of St. Andre Bessette Parish of Amesbury, where she had been actively involved with the Collation Committee for many years.

In her spare time she loved to read, but above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the young ones. Her purpose in life was helping others, and she was always ready, regardless of the day and time.

Her life was filled with wonderful memories that will continue to bring comfort to those she loved so dearly: her husband James E. Simmons, Jr.; son, Jason Simmons; grandchildren, Jeremy and Desiree; great-grandson, Easton; sisters, Randy Brown; Norma Creasey and partner Al Gates, and Jamie Rowe; brother, Charlie Creasey and wife Mary; Mother-in-law, Stacia Simmons; brother-in-law, John Simmons; sister-in-law, Rebecca Barry and husband Michael, along with several generations of nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear, dear friends.

Visiting hours will be Monday, January 22, 2024 from 4 to 7P.M. at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11 A.M. at St. Andre Bessette Parish of St. Joseph Church, 2 School Street, Amesbury, followed by burial at Union Cemetery, Amesbury.
