Paul E. Maurier, age 74, of Amesbury, passed away on Saturday evening, September 14, 2024 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, after a lengthy illness.
Paul was born in Haverhill on October 13, 1949, to the late Stephen and Lillian Maurier, and attended St. Joseph’s School through the eighth grade, then attended Haverhill High School.
Upon graduation, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy where he was assigned to the USS Elokomin, stationed out of Norfolk, Virginia.
Upon his return to the Haverhill/Newburyport area, Paul worked for Towle Silversmiths in Newburyport as a buffer until their closure in 1990. After a few different jobs, he then went to work at Plastek in Newburyport. At both places he made lifelong friends.
Paul was a homebody and he loved all Boston sports from the comfort of his home. He loved camping over the years with dear friends. He did participate in bowling and horseshoe leagues with his Dad in his younger years. He actually held the high three score in bowling at the Port Rec in Newburyport for some time until it was broken.
Paul is survived by his wife, Susan (Webber) Maurier; his children, Heidi McLaughlin of Norwood, MA and Scott Maurier of Newburyport; two granddaughters, Kayla McLaughlin of Haverhill and Jazzell Maurier of Newburyport, who affectionately called him Peepa. He also leaves a nephew, Randy Young of Londonderry, NH; two nieces, Tracy Young of Manchester, NH and Gina Young of West Townsend MA; his mother-in-law, Mary Webber of Newburyport; his brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Anne Webber, along with extended family and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Jeanne O’Neil, formerly of Haverhill and his father-in-law, Kenneth Webber, formerly of Newburyport.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 10 to 11 A.M. at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, MA, with Funeral Services at the Funeral Home at 11 A.M. followed by a Graveside Service at Belleville Cemetery, where he will be laid to eternal rest.
