Randolph J. Eaton

Randolph J. Eaton, age 78, of Merrimac, MA, passed peacefully at the Hannah Duston Nursing Home in Haverhill, Friday evening, November 24, 2023 . He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Mary E. (Campbell) Eaton, who passed in July, 2018.

Born in Newburyport, April 15, 1945, he was the son of the late Roland W. and Ruth P. (Bousley) Eaton and attended Newburyport High School.

Randy, as he was known by many, had worked in the thriving shoe factories including Ruth Shoe Company and Stride Rite Shoe Company.

Randy was an avid history buff. He took great pride and joy in participating in American Revolutionary War reenactments for many years. He was a proud member of the Freemasons.

Although Randy and Mary had no children, they cherished their nieces and nephews and their children, treasuring all the joy they brought into their life.

Randy was a longtime parishioner of the Church of Christ in Seabrook, NH, and was involved with many of their activities.

His life’s memories will always be treasured by his great nieces, Tammy Jo Canney and Tanya M. Chesley of East Wakefield, NH and Shelley L Price of Rochester, NH, along with extended family and dear friends. After the loss of his wife, Mary, Randy was blessed with five great years of companionship and abundant joy with Barbara Fenders. He was predeceased by his siblings,
Ruth (Eaton) Cormier, Roland W. Eaton Jr., Richard Eaton and Roberta (Eaton) Morrell.

Funeral Services will be held at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, MA on Monday December 4, 2023, at 11:30 A.M. followed by a Graveside Service at Highland Cemetery, Newburyport, where he will be laid to eternal rest with his wife, Mary.
