Rose Julia (Mirandi) Raimo, 32, of Newburyport, MA passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital surrounded by her family and much love after a courageous battle with AML. She was the treasured wife of John Raimo, youngest daughter of Thomas and Laura (Lyons) Mirandi, sister, auntie and friend.
Rose embraced life with love and enthusiasm, and showed an exceptional amount of bravery and grace over the last 13 months. To have known Rose was to love her and that was true across all aspects of her life - family, friends, career and everyone she met throughout her journey.
Rose met John at UMass and together, they built a remarkable life. Starting with fun days in college and in Southie, and over the last five years in Newburyport and their new home, Rose and John shared much love, happiness and respect for each other. They were married in 2020, and in August 2023 welcomed their son, John Patrick. Rose led an active, healthy life, including running the Boston Marathon and daily yoga, prayer, and meditation. Professionally, Rose had a thriving career at TJX, where her dedication and kindness were valued by colleagues and friends alike.
Rose found joy in every moment, big and small. She loved the beach, a good book, dancing and singing with John Patrick, and hosting gatherings filled with laughter, always a meal, and exceptional baked goods. She truly cracked the code to a good life early, and lived by her values every day.
Above all, Rose treasured her family. She is survived by her loving husband, John, and their son, John Patrick Raimo Jr. Along with her parents, she also leaves behind her brother, Michael Mirandi, and his wife, Pasy; her sister, Jillian Mirandi, and her husband, Tyle; and her nieces, Leila and Nellie, whom she adored. Rose also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, and cousins from across the Mirandi, Lyons, and Raimo extended families.
Rose’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers and doctors that helped her through her fight with her illness at DFCI and BWH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) research in honor of Rose (under Hematologic blood cancers) at

Rose’s light, love, and spirit will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
