Susan Manley Price, resident of Wingate Residence in Haverhill, passed quietly at home, in the loving presence of her family, on Friday September 13, 2024.

Born in Springfield, MA, July 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Nathalie (Benson) Manley of Longmeadow, MA. After graduating from Classical High School in Springfield, she went on to receive a Liberal Arts degree from Connecticut College and a
master’s degree from UMass where she met her husband, Gordon Price. They were married for 64 years until his passing in 2018.

She is survived by her four children: Alexander Price and wife Kimberly of Weston, VT , Martha Price Blackburn and husband William May Jr. of Maine, Thomas Price and wife Sheila of Boxford and, Catherine Price Rogers and husband Stephen Rogers of Bradford; her fifteen grandchildren: Tyler Blackburn, Kyle Rogers and his wife Sarah , Hannah Knudsen and husband Marcus, Corey Price, Hillary Bradshaw and her husband Nick, Taylor Price and his wife Tia, Hunter Rogers and his wife Jackie, Alexander (AJ) Price and his wife Meghan, Tucker Price, Ashley Price and fiancé Phil Hanssen, Mikaela Rogers, Seth McLaughlin and his partner Bonnie Harrington, Justin Price, Joshua McLaughlin, and Alyssa McLaughlin, in addition to 12 Great grandchildren. Susan is also survived by her only sister Martha Wood of Venice FL, and sister-in-law Anne Myers of Denver CO.

After graduation from college, Susan and her new husband Gordon spent the next two years in Germany where he was serving in the US Army. During his time off they were able to spend time traveling throughout Europe. While there, they had their first child. After his enlistment ended, Gordon and Susan returned home to run Ingaldsby Farm in West Boxford, originally started by his mother Rosamond in 1934. While Gordon was farming the land, Susan kept the books and started a bakery that is currently being run by Tom and Sheila Price at Ingaldsby.

Susan had a great love for the town of Boxford and helped on various Boxford organizations including, at the local schools and the Ingalls Memorial – Boxford Document Center.

Susan and Gordon had many interests, whether it was socializing with friends over coffee, exploring the islands of Casco Bay on their boat or skiing with the grandchildren in North Conway.

She will be remembered most for the special interest she took in her children and grandchildren’s lives; taking them along on trips, attending school activities, discussing our interests and always being there when needed.

Calling hours will be held at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill on Sunday, September 22, between 3 and 5 PM. Graveside Service will take place at Mount Vernon Cemetery in West Boxford on September 23, Monday at 11:00 AM and celebration of life will be held at American Flat Breads in Georgetown, MA directly afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Boxford Historical Document Center PO Box 122, West Boxford, MA 01885.
